Planning your 2024 giving

Thank you for your generous support of Clinton UMC!

Your gifts make our ministries and missions possible.

“...Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” (Matthew 22:21)

"Jesus acknowledges that God's law allows what is imprinted with the

emperor's image to be given back to him, but he also insists that that which is imprinted with God's image be given back to God. What, might you ask, is imprinted, created in, bearing the image of God?

...You and I were created in God's image, and Jesus calls us to return to God all that we are and all that we have been given...

That is the biggest starting point of our Christian understanding of stewardship—that

everything we are and have is God’s, and we are simply caretakers, stewards of it for a time,

entrusted to use it well and do God’s work.

From Rev. Jessica Brendler Naulty's 10/22/23 Sermon, "The Enemies of Gratitude: Greed Versus Generosity."
