Clinton uMC's inclusivity statement

We at Clinton United Methodist church affirm that all people are created in the image of God and are of sacred worth. We welcome all individuals, including people of any race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, nationality, and background. We are committed to the full equality and inclusion of all people in the life and ministries of the church.

 

We uphold the same rights and privileges of marriage for all individuals. Our present and future pastors will work with all couples seeking marriage with the same respect, dignity, and preparation. Our pastor is free to perform weddings for all couples. Our church is free to host weddings for all couples. 

 

We acknowledge the candidacy, licensing, ordination, and appointment of all persons. We are open to considering an appointment of any individual. 

 

Our funds will be utilized in support of our ministry to all. 

 

We proclaim this statement of welcome to all who have known the pain of exclusion or discrimination in church and society. We invite all people to join us in our faith journey toward greater love, understanding, and respect.
